The couple first met in 1995 when Clive was blown away by Amanda as they crossed the street.

Clive ran Ravenseat Farm in North Yorkshire, with Amanda doing various jobs to completion at the time.

He was running his farm alone after his divorce from his first wife when Amanda stepped foot on the farm for the first time.

She was 21 years old then, while Clive was 42 years old.

In Our Yorkshire Farm, Clive recalls the first time he laid eyes on her, he said: “I remember this six-foot-tall woman knocking on the door – I liked her so much. You can’t be. “

For Amanda, attraction is a much slower process, explaining: “It was a slow thing. We got to know each other. We made friends first then hung out together for a bit.

“With both of us from non-farm backgrounds, we really were like beans in a pod but we didn’t know it at the time.”

The couple certainly enjoyed their time together, as they now have nine children running around the farm.

The six children were actually born on the farm itself, simply because it was too far from the hospital to get there in time.

Their child is Raven, 21 years old; Reuben, 18 years old; Miles, 16 years old; Edith, 13 years old; Violet, 11 years old; Sidney, 10 years old; Anna, eight years old; Clemmie, six, and Nancy, five.

Raven is now in college, while Reuben is studying to become a mechanic.

All the kids have helped or continue to help on the farm, making Ravenseat truly a family business.
