Simply hold the car key to your head and listen in amazement – you will find your car in seconds.

Generally, when a car unlocks, it beeps, meaning you can hear it from a distance.

The hack was shared on Instagram by @museumofscience and viewers raved about it.

Alex Dainis, a science communicator working with the Instagram account, said: “Car remotes emit a short-range radio signal. This signal typically travels about 5 to 20 meters before it wears off and is no longer able to reach your car.

“But you can use your head to amplify it and increase the distance it can travel.”

She explained the science behind the ingenious trick: “Your head contains a lot of water. So when you hold the keys to your head, the electromagnetic waves from your car remote interact with the water molecules in your head.”

Alex added, “This movement creates a wave that adds to the distant wave, amplifying it and increasing its range.”

You can even try a water bottle instead, Alex said.

The Instagram video garnered over 2,000 likes, and fans went wild.
