A joint statement from Smilegate RPG and Amazon Games to the community is a thank you Lost Ark Players for the success of the Western launch and for an update on community concerns, progress, content strategy for the future of this release, and more.
The community update is long and thorough, and it comes with a promise to be transparent about how they’re handling this release. Feedback on progression is one of the first things addressed, with a reiteration of the notion that Tier 1 and Tier 2 content is meant to be a bridge to later T3 endgame content (and more of that to come). However, since the original version only contained T1 and T2 content, players had to spend more time until Smilegate RPG released T3 content in the game. However, the western launch included some T3 content. The idea behind all of this is for players to progress at their own pace as it also has other content to keep you busy, but of course when new content is released some people feel the eagerness to try it out. And then there is Argos.
The teams find that
“We made a mistake in releasing the March game update too soon after launch. Data we analyzed along with Smilegate RPG from their previous launches predicted that a larger proportion of players would have reached the required level to challenge Argos. However, we overlooked certain variables such as: B. Players are spending more time on horizontal content and the price of honing materials is increasing due to bots and real money transactions. These factors contributed to a shortage of T3 honing materials.”
With that recognition and feedback, they will be monitoring player progress data and making some adjustments to the release of endgame content. It’s still to come, but a new roadmap will be released soon. They plan to add more horizontal content soon, as well as the new continent of South Vern. The new roadmap will also detail plans for new classes.
Another important topic is the honing of materials. And they plan to let players earn more honing materials through in-game content (including a new random Guardian Raid event) to offset shortages and pricing issues brought on by bots (which they see less of) and players who still not having enough alternatives to power their network.
The teams are also discussing the opening of next week’s PvP season with Competitive Proving Grounds, as well as other rewards. In addition, everyone will receive a gift pack with cosmetics and useful items next week.
