Amazon offers users a free monthly payment – but only if you agree to being spied on

AMAZON pays customers who install a special app and allow it to monitor some of their internet activity.
The online retail giant operates a shopper panel that rewards people with money in exchange for details about their purchases.
The main part is submitting receipts from competing stores that can earn you £5/$10 every month if you upload 10.
You can also take surveys for additional credit.
However, the US version of the app includes another more invasive feature.
This allows Amazon to see the ads that appear on your phone.

Known as ad verification, Amazon says that opting-in allows the company to “collect and use information about where and when you see ads from Amazon, such as the app or website on which you viewed the ad.” have, and the time of day you viewed it”.
This happens automatically and earns you $2 per month.
According to Amazon, such access will “help brands offer better products and make Amazon ads more relevant.”
At this time, the ad verification element is not available in the UK.
However, the panel is optional for a select number of customers and is available by invitation only.
However, there is a waiting list for interested parties.

Amazon advises that all receipts containing sensitive information such as recipe details will be deleted.
Participants also have the option to exit the program and delete all of their data.
