AMAZON is said to have accepted an offer to buy EA, which could indicate more gaming-based shows on Amazon Prime.
According to GLHF sources, later today Amazon will announce its offer to buy the major video games publisher.
EA is one of the largest publishers and developers in the video game industry, selling hugely successful games like the FIFA series.
Rumors of the acquisition have been circulating for weeks as EA appears to have been looking for a parent company to make an offer.
Amazon, Disney and Apple are all said to be interested in the company.
However, it seems that the former is the first to make an offer.
Hit shows based on video game stories like The Witcher and League of Legends Arcane are already available on Netflix.
The rising popularity of video game-based TV shows could point to the reason why Amazon is so interested in the company.
EA owns a number of popular video games such as Mass Effect, Dead Space, Dragon Age and Apex Legends.
The vast worlds of these games would be the perfect setting for a television series.
The rumored acquisition could also impact Amazon’s popular Prime Gaming perks.
Amazon Prime subscribers are eligible to download a range of gaming goodies and games for free.
September will be an especially strong month for the service, which offers AAA games.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Assassin’s Creed Origins, and Football Manager 2022 will all be available to subscribers.
