Ambassador to the UK says the risk of Russia invading Ukraine ‘very high’

The risk of Russia invading Ukraine is “extremely high”, Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK said.
The warning comes as 100,000 soldiers are now massing at the border, raising fears of war.
Vadym Prystaiko told LBC: “We believe the risk is extremely high.”
He added that 100,000 troops is currently “not enough” but Vladimir Putin is “gradually building up” with helicopters and S-400 systems.
He continued: “Or [Putin] are still playing this game, increasingly threatening us, not only us but also European NATO is building up its forces step by step.
“It’s not enough to overthrow us right now, we’ll fight, but who knows what will come back.”
Earlier, Dominic Raab said the Russian president would face “very serious consequences” in the event of an invasion.
The deputy prime minister said there was a “very significant risk of an invasion”.
