Amber Heard has borderline and histrionic personality disorder, doctor says in court

A forensic psychologist testified yesterday that actress Amber Heard suffers from borderline personality disorder and histrionic personality disorder at the civil trial between her and her ex-husband Johnny Depp continues to wallow in the couple’s personal issues.

epp is suing Heard in Fairfax County Circuit Court for defamation after publishing an op-ed in the Washington Post describes himself as “a public figure representing domestic violence”.

The article doesn’t mention Depp by name, but his attorneys say the article contained “implicit defamation” because it clearly referred to allegations of domestic violence made by her when she filed for divorce in 2016.

The 58-year-old actor is suing Heard (36) for $50 million. Heard has countersued for $100 million, saying Depp slandered her by calling her a liar.

Psychologist Shannon Curry was hired by Depp’s legal team. She said she received her diagnosis during 12-hour interviews with Heard, as well as through reviewing her records.

Ms Curry also testified that her relationship with Depp did not cause Heard to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, as Heard has claimed.

Depp’s team hopes Ms Curry’s testimony bolsters her claim that Heard was the culprit in the couple’s troubled relationship.

Depp finished four days on the witness stand yesterday testifying about Heard’s “need for conflict” and her tendency to stalk and stalk him during altercations as he tried to walk away and break away.

The two disorders are similar, Ms Curry said. Borderline personality is a disease of instability, she said, “driven by an underlying fear of abandonment.”

She said people with the disorder “will make desperate attempts to prevent it.”

Evidence presented earlier in the trial includes audio clips of Heard asking Depp not to leave and to stay with her after expressing a desire to break up or break up.

She also said that borderline personality disorder “appears to be a predictive factor for women who engage in violence against their partner.” Depp has said he was the one who was the victim of domestic violence and that Heard punched him on multiple occasions and threw objects such as paint cans and vodka bottles at him.

Histrionic personality disorder, Ms Curry said, is associated with “drama and shallowness” and a need to be the center of attention.

She said there’s a correlation in the disorder with people who are physically attractive and “use their looks to get that attention.”

While the defamation lawsuit is said to focus on whether Depp was defamed in the article, most of the lawsuit has focused on ugly details of the couple’s brief marriage.

Depp has denied ever hitting Heard. Heard’s attorneys say Depp physically and sexually abused her and that Depp’s denials have no merit because he was often drunk and high to the point of passing out.

Depp testified yesterday that he was “heartbroken” when their marriage fell apart.

His fourth day on the stand ended with his attorneys playing audio from a conversation that took place after Heard obtained a restraining order against him in 2016.

That Pirates of the Caribbean Star said he agreed to Heard’s request to meet in a San Francisco hotel room because he thought she might retract her allegation that he abused her.

In the recording, Depp suggested that the couple issue a joint letter saying they love each other and the media had stirred up a storm around them. The proposal is an attempt to find a “peaceful settlement,” Depp said.

Heard, known for her role in AquamanShe resisted, urging him to go public with his claims that he was the one who suffered abuse. “Tell the world, Johnny,” she said. “Tell them I, Johnny Depp – a man – I’m a victim of domestic violence too.”

Depp said he replied: “Yes, I am.”

In another audio clip from the San Francisco meeting, Depp threatened to cut himself with a knife.

“That’s psychologically, emotionally, where I was,” he said. “In the end I was broken … I thought the only answer here is take my blood, that’s all I have left.” Amber Heard has borderline and histrionic personality disorder, doctor says in court
