Amber Heard reveals fight Johnny Depp described as a ‘disco bloodbath’

Actress Amber Heard has described an incident in 2013 in which she claimed her ex-husband Johnny Depp allegedly physically abused her after he accused her of having an affair with a musician.

s Heard described Mr Depp’s alleged abusive behavior during their relationship when she took the witness stand on Wednesday.

In a tearful testimony in Fairfax County Circuit Court, Ms Heard, 36, said she knew she should have left Mr Depp the first time he hit her but couldn’t bring herself to do so.

Mr Depp, 58, is suing Ms Heard for $50 million for suggesting he abused her and, in a December 2018 Washington Post op-ed, describes himself as “a public figure who represents domestic violence.”

Although the comment does not mention Mr Depp’s name, his lawyers argued he was defamed for referring to allegations she made during their 2016 divorce proceedings.

Ms Heard testified that in March 2013, Mr Depp held her arm and slapped her in the face during a fight after he claimed she was having an affair with a musician.

“Johnny hit me. I walked away from him and that made it worse,” she told the court. “I don’t know how many times he slapped me in the face. He grabbed my arm and kind of pinned me to the ground screaming,” she added.

The courtroom was shown an image taken by Ms Heard of a bruise on her arm, which Mr Depp previously denied inflicting on her.

Ms Heard’s lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, showed the court a message exchange between the two in which Mr Depp referred to a book called Disco Bloodbath by James St James when Ms Heard asked if it was “about last Friday night”. .

“I just thought you should know that there’s a book called ‘Disco Bloodbath.’ That’s all…” read Mr Depp’s text message, which Ms Bredehoft submitted to the court.

“We need this book! Does it happen to be about last Friday night?’ Mrs Heard replied.

“How can you make me smile at such a horrible moment??? Yes it is… Funny B****. I fucking love you you shit!!!” Mr Depp replied.

Ms Heard claimed Mr Depp first hit her in 2013 when she was laughing at one of his tattoos, which she took to be a joke.

Ms Heard said she laughed again after he hit her, but then he hit her twice more, with the third punch throwing her off balance.

“You’d think you’d get an answer, but as a woman, I’ve never been hit like that. I’m an adult and I’m sitting next to the man I love and he hit me for no reason,” she told the court.

Mr Depp denied committing physical violence against Ms Heard during his testimony. He said the tattoo incident “didn’t happen.”

“Why should I offend someone so much who makes fun of a tattoo on my body? That claim never made sense to me,” he said.

Ms Heard also claimed that Mr Depp’s allegedly violent and erratic behavior was fueled by drug and alcohol use.

She described a time at Hicksville Trailer Palace in Joshua Tree, California, in May 2013 when she claimed she was sexually assaulted by Mr Depp when he was angrily conducting a “void search”.

“He told me, ‘We’re going to do a caving search,'” Ms Heard said, tears in her eyes.
