The defamation trial comes after Johnny claimed that Amber’s 2018 article for the Washington Post about her experience of domestic violence was directed at him even though his name was not mentioned. .
Amber now says she’s nervous to say more because she has “taken for granted what I consider to be my right to say”.
The actress continued, “I’m afraid that no matter what I do, no matter what I say or how I say it, every step I take will create another opportunity for this kind of silence.”
Amber said she also fears that Johnny might sue her again in the future.
“That’s what I guess a defamation lawsuit is for – to get your voice,” she said.
Talking about her future plans, Amber said that for now she will focus on her one-year-old daughter and full-time motherhood before deciding if she will take on another role.
