American football analytics company Pro Football Focus creates Irish roles

US football analysis firm Pro Football Focus (PFF) will create a number of functions in Ireland when it establishes an office here.

he company, which provides game and player insights for NFL and college football teams, will diversify its core products to serve the US and European football markets.

The first product aimed at football clubs is due to be launched next month.

As part of the European expansion and development of new football products, PFF will create 21 full-time remote positions and 175 seasonal analyst positions in Ireland over the next three years.

Founded in 2009, PFF provides analytics to clients through a subscription-based platform.

The company began providing customized data monitoring services for three NFL teams and now provides data for all 32 NFL teams, more than 100 college football teams and the Canadian Football League.

PFF said the decision to establish operations in Ireland was due to the availability of talent in the country as well as the existing sports technology ecosystem here.

“Ireland will play a key role in PFF’s expansion into the beautiful game,” said Nate Gerstle, GM of Soccer Operations.
