Legendary singer-songwriter Don McLean and girlfriend Paris Dylan attended the Museum of Style Icons at Newbridge Silverware, Co Kildare today.
American Pie singer opened an exhibition at the Kildare Style Icon Museum in present-day Newbridge Silverware, which is dedicated to his life and works.
Fans of the beloved artist had the chance to meet McLean upon his arrival, and he treated them to a performance of some of his songs as well as an interview with broadcaster Tom Dunne.
The American singer (77 years old) accompanied her partner Paris (28 years old) as he chatted with fans to sign autographs.
The exhibition titled Don McLean – Starry, Starry Night is home to some of the singer’s most famous and iconic costumes and personal possessions such as jewelry, musical instruments, clothing, and favorite accessories. .
Included in the standout categories will be the guitar McLean played for Vincent’s hit song (Starry, Starry Night) and the crimson sweater he wore for his American Pie album cover.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of American Pie, and the Grammy Award-winning star will perform a full-seat concert at the 3Arena in Dublin on Friday.
The pieces will be on display at the Style Icons Museum in Newbridge Silverware for less than a month before they are auctioned off by Julien’s Auctions in November 2022.
Part of the proceeds from the auction will go to the Don McLean Foundation, an under-resourced college student organization, homeless shelter and food bank in the state of Maine.
Other notable items that can be seen in the exhibit at Newbridge Silverware include a shirt that McLean wore on the cover of his debut album, Tapestry.

Music will also be on display in the exhibition, with the public getting a chance to see some of McLean’s first musical instruments, including a Gretsch ukulele given to him by his parents in 1955.
One of the most important pieces set to go under the hammer at the November auction is the original lyrics and soundtrack for Vincent.
Julien’s has estimated that this could fetch up to $1 million at auction.
Newbridge has previously held exhibitions on icons including Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe and Kurt Cobain.
