Amir Khan fears he will be killed in a horrific gun robbery where his £72,000 watch is stolen.
The boxer was out with his wife Faryal, enjoying dinner at a London restaurant when a man stole an expensive Franck Muller watch from his wrist.
Amir believes it was a setup, as he said he didn’t know how others knew he was there, as he called on Prime Minister Boris Johnson and London Mayor Sadiq Khan to do more to making the UK safe for residents and tourists alike.
During an appearance on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, Amir explained: “There’s a lot of pressure on the mayor of London. We have to deal with these problems. Since Sadiq came to power, the odds have crime has increased.
“It doesn’t feel safe. I think that’s what London needs [more police]. It could have been me, who was shot and died. I have a wife and a family that I will leave behind. It is becoming very difficult to live and visit London. A few people I know have been killed. “
The boxer says he “can’t retaliate” because his wife is there – and his focus is on his family including his children.
“Fortunately, the other workers and the people of the restaurant checked on me fine, but by then it was too late,” he said, before insisting it was part of the arrangement, as he added: “I think they definitely know who I am.
“I deal with myself after a fight and I go out to meet my friends and I never refuse to take pictures with anyone, in the restaurant there are a lot of people coming to take pictures with me. It has to be arrange for someone to have a car ready and know that I’m eating in a restaurant.”
Amir has vowed to support the UK government and the Mayor of London is now a victim himself.
“Now that we’ve been through that, now we can do something with the government. We can help the government and the mayor,” he said when offering to support the British government on the issue. this topic.
Police have begun investigating the incident, and in a recent statement a spokesman said: “At this very early stage, there have been no arrests. An investigation has begun and the police have is following up on several investigations.”
