Amusement ride on Brighton Palace Pier ‘disappears’ to undergo maintenance

A ride on Palace Pier has “disappeared” due to maintenance.

The booster, which propels passengers 40 meters into the air, was partially dismantled as part of the pier’s annual maintenance.

People walking along Brighton seafront noticed the towering attraction at the end of the pier was missing over the weekend, and some took to social media to ask where it had gone.

A spokeswoman for Brighton Palace Pier said: “Booster undergoes extensive annual maintenance and parts of it are being dismantled to move off site.

“We always winterize all the rides to make sure they’re in top condition.”

Booster, which first opened in April 2006, offers ‘the best views of Brighton’, with riders spinning, flipping and catapulting across the sea.
