An injured man was taken to hospital in a car theft in Pulborough

A MAN was found with facial injuries while police responded to reports of a car break-in.

Police received reports that around 6.50am on Thursday 8 September a blue MG ZS had been broken into and a wallet stolen.

A suspect in a dark blue hooded top and jeans was being followed by a witness from the scene at Bury Hill, near Pulborough.

Later, officers searching the area found a man matching the description walking up Bury Hill with injuries to his face.

He was taken to hospital after telling officers he had been assaulted.

A 39-year-old man from Bognor Regis was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen property and has since been released pending investigation.
