Ancient Japan’s ‘murder stone’ is said to contain a demon that was opened by CRACKED

IF the world doesn’t have enough problems, people are worried that an evil demon locked in a rock for nearly 1,000 years is at work.

The so-called ‘killer stone’ that had imprisoned the evil god all this time split in two, sending the believers into a state of panic.

Japanese legend has it that anyone who comes into contact with the rock will die.

According to mythology, the volanic rock – officially named Sessho-seki – is the home of Tamomo-No-Mae, or the Nine-Tailed Fox.

The demon, in the form of a beautiful woman, was part of a plot to kill Emperor Toba, who ruled Japan from 1107 to 1123.

Located in the mountains north of Tochigi, near Tokyo, the rock was a tourist hotspot – but now visitors are in awe.

Some speculate that evil spirits may even have risen to wreak havoc once more.

“I feel like I’ve seen something I shouldn’t have seen,” said one tourist Twitter.

Others commented: “Here I was thinking that 2022 couldn’t be worse.

“Now, an angry Japanese spirit is freed from its ‘killing stone’.”

But another joked: “My guess is the demon will look around 2022 and want to get back to the rock in another millennium.”

Local reports suggest that the rock actually started to crack a few years ago.

It is thought that rainwater may have gotten inside causing the damage.

Officials are currently studying what to do with the rest of the rock and possibly trying to restore it.
