Andrea Maldera joins Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton squad

Andrea Maldera will be part of Robert De Zerbi’s backup team at Albion – with more to come.

Andrew Crofts will also play a role as a liaison between seniors and the under-21s.

Maldera, 51, previously worked for the Ukraine national team.

Chief Executive Paul Barber told a press conference today that Maldera and De Zerbi have received their board approval and will now have to await formal work permits, “which hopefully won’t be too far away”.

He added, “We also have a small group of Roberto’s former employees that we are going through the process with.”

Nick Stanley (set pieces), Jack Stern (assistant goalkeeping coach) and Adam Brett (Head of Medical) will also be involved. Andrea Maldera joins Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton squad
