Andrea McLean opens up about her decision to leave Loose Women

Andrea McLean has revealed she hasn’t kept in touch with all of her Loose Women co-stars, although she did enjoy joining her former colleagues as a guest last month.

The 52-year-old presenter was a panelist on the popular ITV show from 2007 to 2020, having decided to leave the program a few years ago to pursue other ventures.

Speaking about her departure in a recent interview, Andrea admitted she hasn’t kept in touch with all of her former co-stars — although there is still some communication.

When asked if she’s kept in touch with the other Loose Women, she replied, “Not all, but that’s the same as anyone who works in an office.”

Andrea – who runs the self-help membership group This Girl Is On Fire – spoke about her relationship with her former colleagues in an interview with metro in this week.

She said even when she was on the ITV show, the panelists “didn’t really go out much” as they lived across the country, but said there was “texting and messaging”.

However, the presenter did return for an episode of Loose Women last month, explaining in the recent interview that it was “so good to be a guest again recently”.

She then discussed her departure from the ITV program with panelists Ruth Langsford, 62, Coleen Nolan, 57, Kéllé Bryan, 47, and Katie Piper, 38.

She said leaving the show allowed her to go “all in” with her self-help platform and she created a 10-day challenge for the community to push them out of their comfort zone.

It inspired her latest book – You Just Need to Believe It: 10 Ways in 10 Days to Unlock Your Courage and Reclaim Your Power – which is now available at various retailers.

Andrea opened up about her departure from Loose Women in an exclusive interview with the Mirror last month, in which she said she has no regrets about her decision.

She said: “I look back on my time there with great fondness. I was so lucky. I had the best job in the world, but it just didn’t fit anymore. […] Most of us will eventually outgrow our jobs.”
