A furious man claims a “25ft metal dildo” placed outside his home ruined his retirement plans.
Property owner Brian Swanson and his housemates were furious after Wolverhampton Council erected the 5G mast – reportedly without warning.
Mr Swanson said the council did not notice the broadband tower wound and claims he only found out about the mask when he was standing outside his flat. Birmingham Live reported.
He added that “the monstrosity” has reduced the value of the property by £10,000, which he is now unable to move into as his partner refuses to live there with the mast outside.
An angry Mr Swanson said: “I was angry to tell you the truth. I have no idea where to complain but will as soon as I find out.

“I don’t live there but have owned and rented the apartment for 15 years. I wanted to move in there as a retirement home as it has a nice view of the park.
“There was just a big gray mast right outside the window. He spoiled it now –
“I’ve been thinking about selling it and I think I might lose money. Nobody wants to see a big mast with a box on the side.”
Brian claims that the erection of the 5G mast “definitely reduced” the value of the Patshull Avenue property.
Mr Swanson also said the ugly pole in front of his flat meant his partner was refusing to move there and said yes LADBible : “My partner wanted to share my flat with me, but there was no way she would live near a mast. She wouldn’t even use a cell phone, she’s so paranoid.
“We’ve fallen out now, but if we hadn’t, there’s no way she would have come here.”
Another resident joins in The sun claimed the street had taken to calling the 5G tower “the metal dildo — the sex toy down the street.”
A spokesman for Wolverhampton City Council said mobile network three was responsible for the 5G mast.

They added: “The Council has limited control over the installation of telecom masts and can only comment on some aspects of the proposed location and appearance of the masts.
“On August 3, 2021, we put up construction site notices asking for comments on the planned mast and also included the proposal on our website. No objections or comments were received in this case.”
A spokesperson for Three added: “The rollout of 5G is vital for Wolverhampton residents and businesses.
“We want to provide the community with a reliable networking experience, and this site is critical to making that happen.”
“Poles need to be placed where people will be using the service, in precise locations to ensure the widest possible coverage.
“We conducted extensive searches and surveys to evaluate site options prior to applying for planning permission on Patshull Avenue. Wolverhampton City Council granted planning permission in September 2021.”
