Ankur Patel joins Venice Music as Chief Business Officer

Ankur Patel is Chief Business Officer at music and technology platform Venice Music.

In Venice, co-founded by Troy Carter and Suzy Ryoo, Patel will focus on driving the company’s sustained growth and scaling strategy as it aims to accelerate the development of a new model for the independent music ecosystem, says Venice.

Before joining Venice, Patel held senior positions at music technology company Splice, most recently as Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development, where he oversaw M&A, commercial partnerships and internal strategy.

During his time there, Patel helped lead nine acquisitions and brought in-house creators, music catalogs and technologists to Splice’s subscription business and technology portfolio.

He also helped build strategic partnerships with companies like Adobe, TikTok, and Spotify’s own Soundtrap.

Patel joins a growing list of recently hired Venice executives.

In February, Beth Cherry joined the company as Head of Streaming UK.

Isobel Kelly also joined as Head of Alt/Pop Streaming US, while Jamal Jimoh was named Head of Hip Hop/R&B Streaming (US).
