I’m A Celebrity: Ant & Dec say they hope they’ll return to the jungle

The star-studded reality TV show has been forced to film in Wales over the past two years, due to the impact of Covid-19 and international travel restrictions.

Chat on The One Show on Thursday night, ITV’s hosts confessed that the plan is to return to the woods once again when the 22nd series airs later this year.

“Now, I’m a Celebrity, go there, because Austrailia is reopening their borders from Monday, right?” Host Alex Jones asked the presenters during their chat.

“So is it a castle, or a jungle?”

Ant revealed on the BBC show: “The plan is the jungle.

“Nothing against Wales,” Dec quickly began, and joked that Wales presenter Alex had given him “a pretty stare”.

“We love Wales,” Ant continued.

“But you know, Australia is [I’m A Celeb’s] home and we want to go back there – and we can! “

Alex added that hosting ITV in Wales was “good for a couple of years” but it was time to get back into the woods.

“That’s what we’re hoping for, touching the wood,” declared Dec optimistically, as Rylan joked that the pair were “looking forward to the holiday”.

“You get a much better tan in New South Wales than in Wales,” laughs Ant sarcastically.

After Covid-19 spread across the globe and turned international travel into a logistical nightmare, for the first time in the show’s history, I’m a celebrity…Let me out of here! exchange Australia for North Wales in 2020.

With a brand new location and a new collection of famous faces as the first castle dwellers, the 20th series drew an average of 11.05 million viewers, as a country Waiting to see the likes of Jordan North and Vernon Kay get hooked on castle life.

The following year, the ITV show was forced to miss the international tour again – once again returning to the Welsh castle, where Danny Miller was crowned the new King.

Along with chatting about all things I’m A Celeb, Ant and Dec appeared in The One Show studio on Thursday night to promote Saturday Night Takeaway’s new series.

The multi-award program is back ITV and ITV Hub this weekend, and this cheeky duo promises to make things even bigger and better than previous series.

Chatting with Rylan and Alex on The One Show’s sofas, Ant and Dec revealed the return of live studio audiences is what gets them excited about the new series.

Saturday Night Takeaway’s pending return comes just weeks after it was confirmed to be the Geordie pair’s gameshow Unlimited wins will get the second seriesthough brand fans it’s ‘complicated’.

While Limitless Win may have divided some viewers, there’s no doubt that Saturday Night Takeaway will be an undisputed huge hit with all fans when it returns this weekend.

Primetime TV has been one of ITV’s most consistent ratings wins over the past 20 years and has won numerous awards during its run.
