Saturday Night Takeaway: Ant and Dec welcomes first live audience in 2 years

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway is back with a new series on Saturday night, with some big changes to the previous series.

Live audiences were welcomed back with open arms, after the boys had to abandon the crowds last year to distance themselves from society. Coronavirus pandemic.

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly were amazed, as the crowd cheered for them as they sped down the stage.

As they cheered the return of their hosts and hit ITV show, Ant was quick to say he’s grateful to have real people back on set.

There hasn’t been a live audience for a full series since 2018, with ITV showing in 2019 and then having to drop viewers at the studio for the next two years due to social distancing.

Part of the 2020 series was with audiences, before the hosts had to host final episodes from their homes.

When the guys ran down and greeted the studio audience, they made their way to the bottom and looked shocked.

Ant started gasping for air before gesturing to Dec, who joked that they all looked a bit drunk.

Host Ant said: “Listen, great sound, first live audience in almost two years.

“Oh, we really missed you, we missed you so much. Looking at them all Dec, so full of life.”

Dec joked: “Full of Prosecco by the sounds of it, sit down!”

The pair looked very emotional at such a hearty response from their fans, before Ant later added: “We want our audiences back in the studio!”

Meanwhile, between concerns that Dancing On Ice may be broadcast on Sunday due to storm EuniceAnt and Dec certainly fear the same for their own series.

An insider told Daily Star that ITV was “prepared mentally”, after I Am A Celebrity was broadcast for three days after the set was severely damaged by Hurricane Arwen last year.

But a source for the show also told the Mirror: “The show has taken some precautions today as the health and safety of our cast and crew is paramount. , but we’re very confident that won’t affect Sunday’s show.”

Saturday Night Takeaway airs at 7pm every Saturday on ITV.
