Ant and Dec supported Britain’s Got Talent contestants Flintz & Taylor after they made a mistake in their final act.

The Geordie hosts shared some helpful tips after Flintz, 23, forgot some lyrics during their performance.

Flintz & Taylor, 17, is a rapper/pianist duo who first met online during their first Covid-19 lockdown in 2020. They first met in person at an audition earlier this year.

Alesha Dixon was so impressed by their actions, she awarded them the golden whistle, sending them straight to the live semi-finals.

Then they made it to the finale after the judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha voted for them through two others.

For the finale, they performed an original song inspired by their journey on the show. However, Flintz, unfortunately, forgot some of the lyrics at the beginning of the song.

While Flintz was wiping away tears, the judges and Ant and Dec tried to comfort them.

Ant told the musician, “It doesn’t get better than working with your best friend, believe me. Just enjoy it, enjoy it.”

Before Ant offered her advice, Alesha spoke to Flintz ‘artist to artist’ and told him that stumbling over his performance was not something he should worry about.

Flintz tripped over words during his performance

“Artist to artist, no matter who tells you tonight it doesn’t matter, you’re going to feel bad and I know what that feels like,” she explains.

“You’re about to go on stage and you’re going to beat yourself up about this. But, let me tell you something right now; what you did, what you guys achieved together on the show. This goes beyond any teenager making small mistakes on it.”

The BGT judge added: “And I promise you this, you will inspire a lot of other kids to come out and do what they want and fight for this music industry that is so hard. And I’m telling you now boys, this is just the beginning.”

Alesha said they will inspire many other young people

Flintz & Taylor never intended to be a double but were given the wrong microphone before their audition.

Quacey Goodman, aka Flintz, previously auditioned twice for solo for the ITV show without success.

Quacey asked Taylor to put a tune behind his rap but they met in real life only on audition day when Quacey lived in Croydon, South London, and Taylor lived in Great Barr, Birmingham.

They rehearsed live only once when the producer accidentally gave them both microphones before sending them on stage.
