Ant Middleton joins Ashley Cain at the ultramarathon to honor her late daughter

Ant Middleton joined reality TV star Ashley Cain on the final leg of his 100-mile ultramarathon in memory of his late daughter.

Zaylia Diamond Cain was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia when she was eight weeks old and a fundraiser to save her life had raised more than £1.5million before she died aged eight months.

At the time, former footballer and Ex On The Beach star Cain said his heart was “broken” but vowed to make sure her name “lives on”.

To mark the first anniversary of her death, Cain ran 100 miles to raise money for the Azaylia Foundation, which supports children battling cancer.

Cain started the 100-mile run from his hometown of Nuneaton, Warwickshire on Saturday and finished in Trafalgar Square, London on Sunday afternoon.

After passing the 80-mile mark, former soldier Middleton, 41, joined Cain on the run.

Taking to Instagram, Cain said: “Ant Middleton was an absolute diamond, what a tough guy but what a big heart.

“I swear if he hadn’t shown up a few miles ago we might have been in the van by now, I have to give this guy a lot of love and appreciation, we’re on our way to 100 miles baby.”

Meanwhile, Middleton said: “He already had it in his pocket, he’s got it in his pocket, I came in for a little bit of motivation, that’s just to pump his lion heart a few more punches to get him over it finish line.

“Ashley is amazing and listen I wouldn’t do it I’m not that mad.”

Cain was visibly emotional after finishing the ultramarathon on Sunday, which was greeted by a bevy of friends, family, fans and supporters. Ant Middleton joins Ashley Cain at the ultramarathon to honor her late daughter
