If you have played Apex Legends on your expensive new consoles – these are either those PS5 or Xbox Series X/S – You can upgrade Respawn Entertainment’s popular battle royale to a new and improved version.
These improvements include 4K output, full 60Hz gameplay, HDR, higher resolution shadow maps and longer LOD distances. So if you want the game to reach its absolute pinnacle (unless you have a juicy PC).
How to update Apex Legends to the latest version
PS5 players wanting the upgrade will need to go to the PS5 dashboard and options menu for Apex Legends. From there, go to the “Select Version” option and select the new PS5 version to start the download with all the new features.
The Xbox folks out there don’t have to do anything to get the new version of the game thanks to Xbox Smart Delivery. When you boot up your console, the game should automatically start upgrading. So all you have to do is make sure you have enough storage space and you’re good to go!
It’s also a good time to get back into Apex Legends thanks to the Warriors collectible event starting today. This brings back the limited-time control mode, which is a great time if you fancy a faster Apex experience. Additionally, there are plenty of new skins to hunt down, as well as a new Crypto heirloom set for all the collectors out there.
If you’re looking for a slightly shady look at what we may see in the future of Apex Legends, we’ve covered the massive leak that showed much of the Warriors collectible event as well as upcoming characters very early on.
