Apple fans are discovering a HUGE hint that your iPhone could be replaced by “Metaverse glasses” very soon

APPLE may be working on “Metaverse glasses” that could one day replace the iPhone.

Now, fans have spotted a clue that suggests we might get a glimpse of the tech very soon.

Google, Microsoft and Meta (formerly Facebook) have all developed their own “smart” headsets and glasses.

These virtual reality and augmented reality gadgets are often hailed as the future of technology – they might even replace your iPhone one day.

But Apple hasn’t talked about a headset, despite rumors it is secretly developing one at its California HQ.

Now, detectives have uncovered a trademark filing that hints at some upcoming news.

An international application for the realityOS trademark has been sighted.

The name aligns with Apple’s current software branding, including iOS for iPhone, iPadOS for iPad, tvOS for Apple TV, macOS for Mac, and watchOS for Apple Watch.

Interestingly, the deadline is June 8, just days after Apple’s WWDC 2022 begins.

We’re expecting big software announcements – which could include a new virtual reality or augmented reality system.

It was spotted by gadget expert Parker Ortolani, who works at tech news site The Verge.

“It can be no coincidence that the ‘realityOS’ trademark, owned by a seemingly non-existent company and dedicated specifically to ‘portable computing hardware,’ is filed globally on June 8, 2022,” his tweet reads read.

The trademark was not filed by Apple but by a mysterious company called Realityo Systems – likely a cover to keep the applicant anonymous.

Rumors of an Apple headset have been circulating for years.

And earlier this month, Apple is slated to let its board try out the glasses.

The headset is rumored to be launched this year or next.

But Apple might want to showcase the underlying software at WWDC, a trade show that caters mostly to app developers.

This could allow ingenious programmers to create apps in advance – ready for the headset’s launch.

The gadget is said to be a direct competitor to Meta’s Oculus Quest 2 headset.

And it could be Apple’s first real step into the metaverse.

Unfortunately, Apple won’t reveal anything in advance – so we’ll have to wait for WWDC to find out.

Apple’s WWDC 2022 keynote begins June 6 at 10:00 am in California, 1:00 pm in New York and 6:00 pm in London.
