Apple makes BIG changes to your iPhone after fans moan about new features

APPLE tweaks the iPhone’s new battery icon with a slightly fancier design.

Following are complaints from Apple fans about the fact that the battery icon didn’t drain when it was drained.

iOS 16's battery indicator icon doesn't drain when the battery is running low - although the percentage does expire - but that's going to change in iOS 16.1

The new icon, introduced with iOS 16 this month, finally added a number representing the battery percentage.

This was a long-requested feature, but some iPhone users weren’t entirely happy.

Currently, the battery icon shows up to below 20% full – no matter what the percentage says.

Now a new version of the battery icon will deplete when depleted, as discovered by MacRumors.

Old iPhone models used to have battery percentages.

However, the feature has been dropped for Face ID phone models due to a lack of space next to the “notch” at the top of the display.

Apple used the latest iOS update to reset the battery percentage for iPhone models with Face ID.

However, the iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini missed it in iOS 16.

Now in the new iOS 16.1 update, these models get the new battery indicator.

And the battery icon switches to the newer version where the bar is depleted as the charge drains out.

The iOS 16.1 update is currently in beta testing and will likely land on iPhones more generally over the next few weeks.
