THE Apprentice fans all said the same thing after Shama Amin dropped out of the BBC1 competition on Thursday night’s episode.
ShamaThe 41-year-old, along with the rest of the contenders, went to the Mercato Metropolitano to meet Lord Alan Sugar and learn their quest – but there was an announcement for him.
Speaking to Lord Sugar, Shama said: “I have a condition called rheumatoid arthritis.
“For important reasons and the process is physically demanding, despite all the efforts the entire team has put in, I had to make the difficult decision to skip the process.
“I just wanted to thank you so much for this opportunity.”
Lord Sugar replied, “Well, Shama, I’m really sad to hear that. I wish you and your family all the best for the future.”
But fans were a bit confused and questioned why Shama didn’t simply get off the screen instead of waking up at 4am and traveling with others to do so openly.
One viewer tweeted: “Why did they make Shama public her reason for leaving? Something sketchy about that.”
Another said: “It’s not like the producer made Shama go to the location, stand up there and announce her exit and *then* go home.”
Another wrote: “*whispers* she could have phoned Lord Sugar and told him that and went back to sleep instead of waking up at dawn.”
And the fourth added: “Oh no! Imagine having to get up at 4am to stand for three hours waiting for Lord Alan to say you’re leaving #TheApprentice, she hasn’t been able to do a VT ?”
On the eve of the contest, Shama revealed that she signed up to be a role model for Asian women.
“As a woman of color, wearing the hijab, and the challenges we face every day, I just want to be a living example to Asian women and South Asian women out there,” she explains. .
Shama moved to Bradford with her husband to pursue a high-flying banking career.
However, she gave up this to raise her children, but the idea of what her future might hold for her family never left her mind.
After four years at home, she decided to open The Little Academy Day Nursery as a means of inspiring children to achieve their dreams.
The nursery opened in 2014 and is located on Manchester Road, Bradford.
