The veil was lifted this week over some of Dublin Airport’s horror baggage halls: a giant sliabh baggage with 4,000 unclaimed bags that had nowhere to put, the sorting being likened to ‘climbing a sand dune’, the understaffed baggage one Airline Team reduced their stack from 1,800 unsorted bags to 1,200 only to find it went back up to 1,800 overnight and up to 1,000 more bags were lost each day.
