Armed police in Eastbourne for the second time

ARMED police officers were in a residential area for the second time in two days.

Dozens of police officers were seen in Harebell Close, Eastbourne, around 6pm last night.

It comes after a similar armed police action on nearby Miloil Drive on Saturday afternoon.

Both armed and unarmed police officers were present.

A drone was also used last night.

Speaking of Saturday’s incident, a spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: “Just before 12.30pm on Saturday 17 September, police received a report from a third party of a disturbance at Milfoil Drive, Eastbourne.

“Armed and unarmed officers attempted to locate the individuals involved and establish the full circumstances.

“A man has since been identified and is assisting the police in their investigation.

“The road has been closed as a precaution while the matter is still ongoing and the public is thanked for their patience and understanding at this time.”
