Armie Hammer breaks silence two years after sexual abuse allegations
American actor Armie Hammer has revealed he was sexually abused as a teenager and once considered taking his own life following allegations against him.

In his first interview since the allegations were made, he told the Air Mail digital newsletter: “I’m so grateful now for everything that’s happened to me. I am a healthier, happier, more balanced person now. I can be there for my children in a way that I have never been.
“I’m really grateful for my life and my recovery and everything. I will not go back and undo everything that happened to me.
The Call Me By Your Name actor later said: “I have a very intense and extreme lifestyle.

In the interview, Hammer claimed his interest in BDSM stemmed from being sexually abused by a youth pastor at the age of 13 over a period of nearly a year.
“What it did to me was that it introduced sex into my life in a way that was completely out of my control,” he said.
“I was helpless in this situation. I have no authority in the situation. Then my preferences switched: I wanted to take control of the situation, sexually.
