Around £80,000 worth of cannabis seized in Hastings
Around £80,000 worth of cannabis was seized in a drug raid.
Dozens of the plants were confiscated on Wednesday July 27 after police issued a search warrant at Braybrooke Road, Hastings.
It came after concerns were raised by the community about a potential cannabis factory.
Officers, including a drone unit, visited the address and confiscated the large quantity of mature cannabis plants found inside.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing a Class B drug and suspected of unauthorized drawing or use of electricity.
Braybrooke Road, Hastings.
He was released under investigation while the investigation continues.
Neighborhood Enforcement Sergeant David Gill said: “This was a significant discovery after local residents reported to us their concerns about a property being used to grow cannabis.
“Drug manufacture and supply harms our communities and is linked to broader criminal activity. This arrest demonstrates our commitment to disrupting the supply of drugs in Hastings and St Leonards.
“This demonstrates our determination to act on information brought to us by the community about drug trafficking and to act quickly to keep our communities safe.
“We encourage the public to report their concerns about anti-social behaviour, drug dealing and knife crime through the Sussex Police website or via 101. Always call 999 in an emergency.”
