Gabriel gives transfer update
Arsenal have received a transfer boost following Gabriel’s recent comments.
The centre-back has been a rock in defense alongside Ben White this season and one of the reasons the club are close to a top four finish. His game on the pitch has linked him with a move from Emirates Stadium at the end of the season to join them Barcelona.
But the Brazilian insists he is happy in north London.
Gunners Partey is concerned
Arsenal look like they will have to fight for a top four result without Thomas Partey.
The Ghanaian midfielder has risen since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations and has slowly become the heartbeat of the Gunners midfield. Unfortunately, former Atletico Madrid took a beating in last week’s 3-0 defeat by Crystal Palace and will be on the sidelines for a long time.
“The news we’ve received after further evaluation doesn’t look very positive for his availability this season,” said manager Mikel Arteta in the pre-match press conference.
Arteta’s forward solution
Arsenal could be forced to turn to a summer teenager to lead the line for the remainder of the season.
Elderly striker Alexandre Lacazette is doubtful for the weekend’s game southampton in the Premier League. football.london reported that the French striker missed training and could make his debut for Arteta Mika Biereth after being signed by him Fulham. Biereth 10 goals for the U23 this season.
The 19-year-old has made the bench four times so far this season but has yet to play a minute for the first-team.
