Mikel Arteta saw his Arsenal side lose on Monday night and has fresh injury worries

Partey injury blow

Arsenal will be without key midfielder Thomas Partey for the remainder of the year First League Season.

Partey played in Monday night’s loss crystal palace however, failed to finish the game and escaped with 16 minutes remaining due to injury. While manager Mikel Arteta was shy about what the actual injury was, the Spaniard said on Friday it was a “concern” and he would be out for at least “weeks”.

Arteta said Albert Sambi Lokonga could be Partey’s replacement while the Ghanaian midfielder is absent.

Merson’s top 4 prediction

Arsenal are currently fifth, one place behind the final Champions League place but were tapped to secure a top four Premier League finish.

With nine games remaining for the north London team, they are level on points with their rivals Tottenham but have a game in hand. Former shooter Paul Merson believes Spurs are overly dependent on Kane, who can’t stop Arsenal leapfrogging them and securing European football next season by finishing fourth.

“As soon as he [Harry Kane] On one of those days off, Spurs will slip and Arsenal will strike,” Merson wrote in his Daily Star Column.

In an alternate universe, Wenger would have signed Ronaldo for Arsenal back in 2003.

The Gunners’ hunt for the United striker is well-documented and the Frenchman has once again spoken out about how close the Portugal star came to a touchdown in north London. Instead of wearing the Arsenal red and linking with Thierry Henry, Ronaldo donned the United red despite being just days away from the trip to Highbury.
