Arsenal news: Mikel Arteta announces release of key duo transfer ultimatum amid competition

Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe have been told by former Gunners midfielder Paul Merson that new signings are in danger of being sold in the summer as Mikel Arteta corrects a long-standing weakness in the team.

With no matches this weekend, Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta could glimpse the future as they look to return to UEFA Champions League.
While he cannot help them this season, the addition of striker Alexander Isak in the summer could give the Gunners the boost they need to regularly finish inside the top four in the Premier League. Premier Leaguebut he is said to have his heart set on a move inside La Liga.
The two players dubbed the future of the Emirates Stadium team are Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka, both from the Hale End academy system and are preparing for new contracts.
But one before Arsenal Players believe that if the duo cannot put pen to paper to sign a long-term contract in north London, the club should sell both.

Arsenal’s Isak rivalry
Arsenal’s interest in Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak is well known, with the striker tipped to move on in January as well as one in the summer.
With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang allowed to participate Barcelona last month and with both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah out of contract in the summer, Arsenal’s need for a striker became a priority.

Saka’s deal has only two final years left while Smith Rowe’s is tied until 2026.
However, that has not stopped Merson from calling for the sale of the duo in the summer if they do not commit their future to the club.
“They should be talking about a five-year contract now,” Merson wrote in Daily Star pillar. “Sign them, and if they don’t want to sign, then sell them in the summer.
Arteta cures depression
Mikel Arteta continues to develop in his role as Arsenal manager and his tactical adjustment midweek last week Wolf is further proof of that.
With his team trailing 1-0, Arteta made a small change to turn the tide in his favor and was rewarded with two late goals.
The substitute Spaniard gave the Gunners the boost they needed to take all three points when it looked like they weren’t going to win anything.
And Arsenal’s winning form is a sign that one of the team’s weaknesses is almost a thing of the past.
