Brazil youngster Marquinhos is close to a move after it was revealed he had arrived in London for a medical, and despite reports linking the Gunners to Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus, they want their attention on Juventus’ Paulo Dybala to steer.

Marquinhos made his way to London for medical treatment

Arsenal transfer target Marquinhos is getting closer to becoming the club’s first signing for the summer transfer window after it was revealed the Brazilian is now in London ahead of a medical with the club To express .

The Gunners have been heavily linked with the Sao Paulo winger over the past week and after it was revealed Mikel Arteta’s side would sign him for £3million, an official announcement from the club is expected in the near future.

The 19-year-old was also at Arsenal’s training ground on Thursday (19 May) to meet with the Spain manager and meet his new team-mates before signing a five-year deal that runs until the summer of 2027.

Arsenal make contact with Dybala

Following reports that Tottenham Hotspur were keen to sign Paulo Dybala this summer, Arsenal have now taken matters into their own hands, allegedly getting in touch with the unsigned Juventus star ahead of a possible end-of-season move.

Corresponding ESPN the Gunners are now reconsidering their promotions for Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus following their steep price tag for the striker and are now looking at Dybala as an alternative, who is one of the top names on their shopping list.

The Argentine can arrive as a free agent once his contract expires at the end of this season and the north Londoners have now been in touch, determined to make a striker their number one priority ahead of next season.

Arteta relies on “quality over quantity”

Following the news that Arsenal will be providing a generous budget backing for Mikel Arteta in the upcoming summer transfer window, the Spaniard has revealed he will continue to go for “quality over quantity” despite the cash pool at his disposal.

The Gunners added Aaron Ramsdale, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Martin Odegaard to their roster last summer and while they appear to have missed out on a top four finish, there have certainly been many improvements this season, and now Arteta wants to build on that.

As reported by the Evening Standard, Arteta has told director of football Edu and chief executive Vinai Venkatesham that he would like two top players in each position and the club will therefore aim to raise funds by sacking unwanted players to help the Squad to strengthen with a small number of top players.
