Asa Hutchinson’s call for “respect” at pro-Trump event drowned in boos

Republican presidential candidate Asa Hutchinson, who has been critical of former President Donald Trump in the past, was booed relentlessly while speaking at an event organized by a pro-Trump group on Sunday.

The audience at the Turning Point Action Conference in West Palm Beach, Florida, began mocking the former Arkansas governor shortly after he took the stage.

They also chanted Trump’s name and heckled when Hutchinson demanded “respect for those who may disagree.”

On CNN, former Republican National Committee communications director Doug Heye suggested it was because Trump’s base wanted to hear the former president’s talking points on a loop.
