Asda has announced Big news this week as the company has announced a partnership with Jaja Finance to launch a new rewards credit card that will allow customers to earn ‘Asda pounds’.
The new card allows shoppers to get 1% back in Asda pounds when they use their card to buy groceries, fuel and other Asda services. In addition, customers would receive 0.3% cashback on all other purchases outside of Asda.
Buyers using the new credit card will rewarded by Asda’s new loyalty program, Asda Rewards, with every purchase. All they have to do is download the Asda Rewards app and link it to their credit card to earn 1% for every £1 spent at Asda.
The Asda Rewards program will expand to 300 stores from Thursday 21st July as it rolls out in more stores and online this summer.
This means customers can spend the money they earn in even more stores or online by creating vouchers in their Asda Rewards app and scanning their phone at checkout when shopping.
Alternatively, you can save and build up your cashpot for the big moments later in the year.
As an introductory offer, customers who apply before August 28th will receive a higher rate of 2% on their Asda purchases.
Katie Walley, Senior Director, Asda Money & Mobile, said: “We’re always looking to make shopping that little bit more rewarding for our customers, which is why we’re launching a credit card in conjunction with our new digital loyalty app – Asda Rewards.
“By using the new Asda Money credit card, customers can earn Asda pounds with every purchase by getting 1% back on all Asda purchases, including fuel, to spend later in-store or online.”
David Chan, CEO of Jaja Finance said: “Rewarding consumers has never been more important and our partnership with Asda means we can give back to our customers through the Asda Money Credit Card and Asda Rewards programme.
“The rising cost of living and rising inflation mean households are feeling the pressure fast. With the Asda Money Credit Card, customers can be rewarded for the things they already buy and take advantage of a discount at Asda by using the rewards they have earned.”
The credit card is provided by VISA and costs 22.9% of the representative APR with no annual fee.
