Ashley Cain emotional after 100-mile run on first anniversary of Azaylia’s death

Ashley Cain was visibly emotional this afternoon after completing a 100 mile run in memory of his late daughter Azaylia Cain to mark the first anniversary of her death.
The reality TV star, 31, and his ex-partner Safiyya Vorajee, 33, tragically lost their daughter aged just eight months after she was diagnosed with leukemia.
It’s the first anniversary of her death today (April 24) and her proud father was determined to celebrate the date by running 100 miles in honor of Azaylia and her charity.
The initiative saw the Ex on the Beach graduate leave his hometown of Nuneaton in Warwickshire yesterday morning and ended up in Trafalgar Square, London today.

After the run, which Ashley completed in just over 24 hours, he was greeted at the finish line in the capital by hundreds of supporters including family and friends.
Footage captured as he reached the crowd – shared by charity The Azaylia Foundation on Instagram – showed the former footballer visibly emotional after his impressive performance.
It shows the crowd chanting “Let’s Go Champion” as he approaches, with the teary-eyed father being hugged by supporters and heard telling him how “proud” they were.

The 100 mile run was created by Ashley to honor the memory of his late daughter and in doing so has also raised awareness for the charity The Azaylia Foundation.
Founded by their parents, it aims to support families who are raising funds for treatments not readily available on the NHS and to provide children with unforgettable experiences.
In a post ahead of the run, Ashley said he wanted to help the charity “be seen and heard” in hopes of raising awareness and understanding of childhood cancer.

He was joined along the way by a host of supporters, including adventurer Ant Middleton, 41, who accompanied him for the final kilometers of the latest initiative.
Ashley once said during the run that he was “physical, mental and emotional [broken]”But he was determined to complete the project in honor of his late daughter.
He has previously shared his commitment to helping others, stating that he “will fight to the day [he dies] for other children and their families who are facing the monster cancer.”
