Assassin’s Creed Origins gets Game Pass release date
To update: Both Assassin’s Creed Origins and For Honor: Marching Fire Edition will be coming to Xbox Game Pass in June. This has been confirmed in the Xbox Game Pass app in the Coming Soon section on consoles and shows the release date for Assassin’s Creed Origins as June 7th, while For Honor: Marching Fire Edition will be released on June 1st. In addition to revealing the second wave of Xbox Game Pass entries in April, Xbox also announced that Assassin’s Creed Origins and For Honor: Marching Fire Edition will be coming to Game Pass in the near future.
According to an Xbox Wire blog post, both games will be coming to Game Pass within the next two months. 2017’s Assassin’s Creed Origins will be the first Assassin’s Creed entry to join the game subscription service.
For Honor Marching Fire Edition will also be available through Ubisoft Connect for PC Game Pass. For Honor’s base game is already available on Game Pass, so the Marching Fire Edition becomes a free upgrade option for those using Game Pass on your console or via the cloud.
“In the next two months” means we should see Assassin’s Creed Origins and For Honor: Marching Fire Edition on Xbox Game Pass by the end of June 2022.
This news comes after Ubisoft put one of its latest games, Rainbow Six Extraction, on Xbox Game Pass on the first day of launch in January. Ubisoft also confirmed last year that 60FPS support for Origins is currently being worked on, but there’s no word on if that will be ready when the game comes to Game Pass.
We also already know of some other games coming to the service in May. These include Trek to Yomi on May 5th and Sniper Elite 5 on May 26th. Games coming to Game Pass this month include Bugsnax, 7 Day to Die, MLB The Show 22, Life is Strange True Colors and more.
