The Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland (ASTI) ASTI voted 4-1 to adopt the Public Service Cost of Living Collective Agreement.
STI members voted 83 percent in favor of the revised and expanded Building Momentum agreement, negotiated after unions prompted a review due to rising inflation.
Turnout in the ASTI vote was 45 percent and the union leadership had advised members how to vote.
Last week the other two teachers’ unions, INTO and TUI, also announced their overwhelming support for the updated agreement.
The proposal is for an additional 3 pcs from February 2, 2022, 2 pcs from March 2023 and 1.5 pcs or €750 from October 2023, whichever is greater.
The results of votes by all unions across the public sector will be summarized at a meeting of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) Public Services Committee on Friday 7 October.
