At David Gilmour’s Hove mansion, her for £15million

THESE stunning images show the inside of a seaside paradise being sold for £15million by Pink Floyd frontman David Gilmour.

The former 19th-century bathhouse was debated for several years before David and his wife Polly bought the site in 2015 to restore the dilapidated building.

However, close inspection revealed that the structure was not solid, so plans were drawn up to replace the building with a design that captured the same aesthetic.

Designed by award-winning architect Keb Gavarito-Bruhn, Medina House on Hove’s seafront ranks as one of the city’s priciest properties, with sea views, a recording studio, and open fireplaces that run on logs and gas.

By the time the bespoke mansion was completed towards the end of 2020, it had become redundant following the couple’s two children’s move to London.

The property features the distinctive crow-stepped Dutch gable of the original 1894 building, while retaining some of the surviving glazed ceramic tiles that once adorned the walls of a seawater pool.

Many of the rooms at the five bedroom property have lovely views across the English Channel.

At the center is a soothing Zen-inspired garden created by garden designer Arabella Lennox-Boyd.

The house also boasts a host of modern technologies including a geothermal heat pump, underfloor heating boosted by automatically operated, fan-assisted trench heaters, as well as an extensive wireless network, a Kef sound system and an Apple TV installation.

There is a wine shop with its own controlled air conditioning units, a CCTV system with remote monitoring, a fire alarm system with fog fire suppression and a gym.

The villa also features three bathrooms, a shower room, library, sauna, study, office, orangery and a remote door entry system with biometric fingerprint access.

Also part of the property is David’s self-contained, state-of-the-art recording studio, once artist Ida Verner’s painting studio, complete with private parking for several cars. The studio also has its own canoe shop.

The property is just off Millionaire’s Row at the end of the Western Esplanade in Hove, which has hosted the likes of Adele, David Walliams and Fatboy Slim over the years.

Despite selling his Hove retreat, David still lives in Sussex with a house on a farm at Wisborough Green, near Horsham.

David and Polly said: “The master bedroom with sea views in all directions is a beautiful spot to watch the sun rise and set over the sea.

“At night it’s exhilarating to watch the moon reflect off the water from your bed.

“When you wake up in the morning, the view is always a surprise: sea and sky are never the same.

“It is a huge advantage that there is no busy road or traffic between us and the sea.

“We love the drama of winter storms over the water.

“Amazing to walk across the beach to swim and hop back to the house for a sauna.”
