Pre-check the previously scheduled alpha for Into the Echo was moved to early April, “Due to some unforeseen circumstances surrounding the war in Ukraine”, the ETLOK team announced today. Several members of the studio’s remote team were forced to evacuate due to conflict.
The team’s statement, as shared on the game’s Discord, is in part:
“As you may know, we have a talented team of remote employees from all over the world. Unfortunately due to the conflict in Ukraine, our employees were forced to evacuate. For this reason, we chose to move back to the pre-alpha phase. This has been a difficult decision and we understand it’s an unfortunate time, however we’re looking to deliver the best experience possible and that’s not possible at this time. “
The new dates for the pre-alpha are April 2-3 and the team will also release another 500 keys for testing. Those who have already applied will be made available in the next few weeks. The pre-alpha was originally scheduled for last weekend, March 5-7, and has been pushed back once before to March 12-13. If new April dates come, along with 500 Additional key will be available, this beta will have around 1,500 players.
As the situation changes from day to day in Ukraine, and with so many companies, in gaming and other industries, providing support to the people there, things can continue to be difficult. Although it can be a bit disappointing for those who are looking forward to participating in the test and feeling Into the Echo Soon after, the company’s decision to delay pre-alpha once again on behalf of that team members is another example of how the current war is affecting so many people, including the whole gaming community.
