Atlanta shooting: 1 death, multiple injuries reported

ATLANTA (AP) — One person was fatally shot and at least three others injured in a shooting at a building in Midtown Atlanta on Wednesday, police said.
Atlanta police said no more shots had been fired since the first shots were fired at a building on West Peachtree Street between 12th and 13th Streets, a commercial area with many office buildings and high-rise buildings. No suspect was in custody and police said in an email shortly after 1pm that it was an “active, fluid situation”.
Police said in an email that they are actively looking for the suspect and other victims. The three injured were taken to a hospital for treatment, and the fourth person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting comes as gun violence and mass shootings ravaged cities across the US in 2023.
The police sent a photo of the alleged shooter. The person was wearing dark pants and a light-colored hoodie with the hood pulled up. They had a mask on their face and appeared to be wearing a pocket across the front.
Authorities said the person was armed and dangerous and asked anyone with information on the person’s whereabouts to call 911.
Police urged everyone in the area to secure their building and accommodation.
