Austrian Chancellor: Putin “in his own logic of war”

The Austrian leader recently visited the devastated Ukrainian city of Bucha to see for himself what Russian forces had done there. He said he spoke to Putin about the slaughter.

“I went to Moscow to confront President Putin with what I saw,” he told Todd. “You know, it wasn’t a friendly conversation. It was an open and tough conversation. And I told him what I saw. I saw the war crimes. I saw the massive loss of the Russian army.”

The Austrian Chancellor said it was imperative that the world continue to confront Putin about what he and his forces are doing.

“It is necessary to constantly confront him with what is going on in Ukraine,” Nehammer said.

“I think that is necessary. You know, at the end of our conversation he told me in German that it was better if the war ended sooner than later. So I think he knows exactly what’s going on now. And we must confront him. In other words, we have to look him in the eye and confront him with what we see in Ukraine.” Austrian Chancellor: Putin “in his own logic of war”
