Bad Sisters season two: everything you need to know about the second season of Sharon Horgan’s brilliant comedy

If you like sisterhood, unbelievably beautiful Dublin waterfront homes and a wit that only an Irish writer could put into a script, then you’re in luck. Apple TV+ just confirmed that Bad Sisters will return for a second season.

Resurrection One, released this August, follows the Garvey sisters – Eva, Grace, Becka, Bibi, and Ursula – as they navigate the mysterious death of Grace’s truly terrible husband, and the network the tangled net he weaves through.

The hilarious dark Whodunnit tells us that John Paul (not so cutely nicknamed ‘The Prick’) died in the first episode. And the remaining nine episodes tell us exactly how it happened – with plenty of twists and good laughs along the way.

In a press release on November 8, executive producer and actress Sharon Horgan said: “If you had told me three years ago that I was going to make a series about five murderous sisters chasing a man around Ireland trying to kill him. ‘d said ‘yes, that sounds right’.

“The response to our show has been beyond what we could have hoped for. It has given us the opportunity to shine a light on stories that don’t always have such a global platform. I look forward to it.” want to be in the Irish Sea one more time.”

Who can we expect to see in season two?

Horgan confirmed she will return as Eva Garvey, and with any luck, her on-screen sisters will follow suit. That means the return of Eve Hewson as Becka Garvey, Sarah Greene as Bibi Garvey, Anne-Marie Duff as Grace Williams and Eva Birthistle as Ursula Flynn. Still, it’s safe to say we won’t see John Paul again unless in flashback it means bidding high for Claes Bang.

If the Garvey sisters return, it could signal the return of their friends, family, and neighbors. Though the Claffin brothers, Thomas (Brian Gleeson) and Matthew (Daryl McCormack), ended their coverage breakdown at the end of season one, Becka’s romance with the latter could mean we’ll meet back them.

When will season two of Bad Sisters come out?

The second season was announced earlier this month, just weeks after the finale was streamed on Apple TV. It’s still early days, but the show could return in late 2023 or early 2024.

What will the second season of Bad Sisters be about?

The million dollar (or euro) question is what the next season will focus on, since John Paul is dead and audiences know how (spoiler alert: Grace strangles him with pajamas). But even if that storyline ends happily, there are a few paths the showrunners could go down in season two.

Video of the day

Thomas Claffin’s wife, played by Seána Kerslake, gave birth to their baby at the end of season one, and it wouldn’t be short of seeing Thomas frequently baffled as a father.

Even the aftermath of JP’s death will make for an interesting twist, as Grace settles her guilt and Becka argues over her inadvertently killing JP’s mother. There’s also Ursula’s love affair, Eva’s workplace drama, and Bibi’s eye problem. And what about Grace and JP’s daughter, Blanaid (played by Saise Quinn)?

One thing’s for sure: there’s plenty of scope to make the second as complex, fun, and completely watchable as the first.
