BAFTAs: Rebel Wilson jokes about Prince Andrew

Rebel Wilson is back hosting the BAFTA Awards tonight – and poking fun at the royal family.

It comes two years after she stole the show with a barbaric barbaric speech that threw some punches at the Royal Family.

And she has no punches tonight in targeting Prince Andrew and Meghan Markle.

“So I’m going to do some musical as host, it’s about Prince Andrew though um…” she began hesitantly.

“Listen guys, no, it’s not what you think, it’s on roller skates, it’s called Pizza Express,” she quips.

“But don’t worry, I’m not doing it, I’m not singing, I’m saving my voice for the Cats sequel.”

Rebel next took aim at Meghan Markle as she mocked her explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“Our next pack is for Best British Film from drama to horror, fantasy… Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah has it all,” she joked.

“Unfortunately it’s not nominated in this category but some incredible films do.”

The Australian actress and comedian previously admitted she was surprised to be asked back before the show after fearing she would be ‘cancelled’ during her final gag-filled speech.

In 2020, the Pitch Perfect star made viewers’ hearts flutter when she rips tear marks in Prince Andrew and Harry – all with Prince William and Kate Middleton sitting just meters away from her in the pew head.

The royal couple were seen grinning in their seats as some unfortunate headlines surrounding their family members were made in front of the Royal Albert Hall’s star-studded audience.

The incredible moment came when Rebel took to the stage to present the award for best director.

Starting off as she intended, Rebel first targeted nominees.

“I look at the brilliant, daring talent nominated in this category and I don’t think I can do what they do,” Rebel said of the all-male nominees. “Honestly, I just don’t have the ball,” she said.

The actress was then ‘wrong’ to refer to Royal Albert Hall as ‘Royal Andrew Hall’, with the Duke having been accused of sleeping with a 17-year-old girl trafficked by his pedophile friend Jeffrey Epstein .

The civil suit was rejected by Andrew and subsequently resolved without admissibility.

She continues to mock her film Cats – which has been a hit at the box office, sexism in the film industry and BAFTA’s efforts to be eco-friendly.

Rebel began: “Good evening esteemed guests and unidentified people. It’s great to be here at Royal Andrews … Royal Harry … Royal Phillip … where the royal palace is located. this.

“I was just told backstage that no one was getting a big gift bag tonight, yes you all got a gift purse instead, which is funny because that’s also my nickname. my vagina.

“So it’s probably me who’s going to get the best initial score at tonight’s party.”

She then joked that her dress was made up of two dresses sewn together to be ‘more sustainable’, ‘one of which was from the Cats movie funeral,’ she said. more.

She then held BAFTA to her mouth, saying, “What a great way to prevent you from catching the coronavirus.”

The four-minute riot on the podium had an all-star audience sewn up with many clearly seen spitting in their seats.

It has also received a huge response from viewers at home, with many calling for Rebel to host the entire show a year.

Fast-forward two years and Rebel received the honor of standing in front of the prestigious film ceremony, after last year’s show was taken online due to the Covid lockdown.

Luckily for Rebel, the royal couple were not in the crowd on Sunday night as they were not in attendance this year.
