Balcombe: Lorry driver arrested after accident on country road
A man has been arrested after an accident in which a truck and car caught fire.
The accident happened at around 9.30am this morning at London Road, Balcombe.
The lorry driver, a 25-year-old man from Hounslow, west London, was arrested on suspicion of “staying in the UK overtime”.
It will be forwarded to the immigration authorities.

The overturned car and cement mixer were on fire, and the flames were spreading to telegraph lines and a nearby house when West Sussex Fire and Rescue Services arrived.
Firefighters confirmed that no one was trapped in either vehicle and there were no reported injuries.
The house was damaged in the crash.
Two fire engines from Burgess Hill and Crawley attended, as did Sussex Police and ambulance crews.
