Baldur’s 3 . port about to officially release as developer Larian has said that this will be its last year in development.
Head of the studio Swen Vincke tell PCGamesN that, while the priority has always been to make the game the best it can be, he hopes Larian will hit a full release next year.
“We’ll release it when it’s ready,” he said. “The main goal here is quality: to bring the game to the level of quality it should be.
“That said, we think we still need a year to do that. But that will be the last year. We’re getting to the end of it.”
Vincke added that the full release of Baldur’s Gate 3 “probably won’t be this year, but it won’t be later.”
While this still seems uncertain, Larian said last June that the game won’t leave Early Access until at least 2022so its official launch seems to be getting closer.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access Edition was released in October 2020 with dozens of hours of content and IGN says it is “probably the closest story-centric RPG of its kind that can emulate the Dungeons & Dragons experience on the table.”
