Baldur’s Gate 3 release date lands in August 2023

Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released in August 2023, developer Larian Studios announced during today’s The Game Awards. The announcement came along with a new trailer and details about the game’s Collector’s Edition.
The Collector’s Edition includes a 10-inch Mindflayer vs. Drow battle diorama made from high-quality PVC/ABS plastic, an approximately 160-page hardback artbook, character sheets, a cloth card, a tadpole keychain, 32 pre-cut stickers, three Magic: The Gathering Booster packs featuring Baldur’s Gate 3 characters, an oversized Baldur’s Gate 3 D20 metal cube, and a Collector’s Edition certificate. The Collector’s Edition costs $270 and is limited to 25,000 pieces worldwide.

In addition to this news, we also received a trailer showing the return of beloved characters Minsc and Jaheira, as well as the City of Baldur’s Gate gameplay debut. You can see the trailer below.
Ahead of the 1.0 launch in August 2023, Larian will release Patch 9, which will include various improvements from the Early Access version, including a new playable class. Details will be announced during a special streamed panel on December 14th.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has been in Early Access since 2020, so that August 2023 release window is a long time coming. Since that Early Access launch, Baldur’s Gate 3 has received a “very positive” rating from Steam user reviews, with nearly 50,000 logged reviews at the time of this writing. According to the Steam page, version 1.0 will include all classes and races, as well as most spells from the dungeons Player’s manualplus acts 2 and 3 of the Baldur’s Gate 3 story.
