Bandai Namco reports earnings up nearly 50% for fiscal 2022

Bandai Namco has released its financial results for fiscal year 2022 and it looks very promising for the publisher. With total earnings of 125 billion yen ($963 million), that’s a staggering 48.2% year-over-year increase.

Net sales increased 20% to a total of 889 billion yen ($6.8 billion), largely due to the monumental success of Elden Ring. In terms of game sales, the company sold a total of 56 million software units across 66 different titles.

Japan remains the company’s most profitable region, accounting for 70% of the publisher’s revenue from its businesses. America follows with 11%, Europe and Asia share 9% each.

Looking ahead, the publisher has several Switch games in the pipeline, including Digimon Survive, Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series, Dragon Ball: The Breakers, and SD Gundam Battle Alliance.

In addition to its continued success, Bandai Namco has recently made some significant changes, including an attractive salary increase for its Japanese employees. A brand new company logo has also been introduced, ditching the multicolored legacy design in favor of a more modern, streamlined approach.
